CSKA Moscow is only one win away from the Final Four of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague after beating Khimki Moscow Region 89-84 in Game 2 of the quarterfinals at home
The game was intense as teams exchanged the lead several times, but it was CSKA who grabbed the win by finishing the game the right way and having an amazing game by its Spanish star.
With Nando De Colo being absent due to injury, magnificent Sergio Rodriguez took the responsibility. The Spaniard had a huge a night as he set a new career high in both points and PIR. He had a strong double-double with 26 points and 10 assists which was enough for the win and 36 in PIR.
Dimitris Itoudis’ team made an 11-4 run at the start of the last quarter which pushed them to the win. This was the sixth win for CSKA against Khimki this season as they have a perfect score against them (6-0).
El Chacho had help from Will Clyburn and Corry Higgins. Higgins scored 20 points followed by Clyburn’s 16 points and seven boards.
With back to back triples by James Anderson at end of the second quarter, Khimki built a small lead after the first half (45-43), but ultimately this was not enough.
Anderson finished the game with 11 points while Anthony Gill had 22 points. Alexey Shved added 12 points and 7 assists.
