Utah’s big man talked to the Turkish BeINSports before the semifinal game of Fenerbahce against Zalgiris Kaunas and he admitted that a part of his heart remained in Istanbul.
“I followed the team during the year”, said Udoh. “Even though some left, I had great relationships during my time at Fenerbahce. When you win a championship, those relationships do not go away. Although I haven’t seen my ex-teammates during the year, I know that they are good. Zalgiris is the underdog team, but they don’t have anything to lose. Fenerbahce will control the game but Zalgiris is a tough team and Fener has to be tough on the defense from the very beginning. If they can run the court and utilize their athleticism, they can create a difference”.
Kings’ Bogdan Bogdanovic is watching the game alongside Udoh who praised another Serb, Fenerbahce’s coach Zeljko Obradovic: “It is great to see coach Obradovic. He has a huge effect on my career and game. My performance from last year depends largely on him. I was trying to protect the rim and create for my teammates. I cannot forget his contribution considering last year”.
