BELGRADE – Fenerbahce Dogus knocked down Zalgiris Kaunas 76-67 in the first semifinal game of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four in Belgrade.
Fenerbahce head coach Zeljko Obradovic was obviously happy for making it to the another Final, but he did also praise his opponents and their mentality.
“It was a tough game, we knew that. Zalgiris is a team that plays aggressive until the last second. At the break, we talked about how we had to keep our defense at the top, and we managed to do that. But Zalgiris is relentless and they came back three times, but we knew that. They always find a way to come back, and that’s been like that all season. Coach Jasikevicius’ team played great all season and also tonight. I am not surprised at what Ali did during the game. We trust him.”, said Obradovic.
The game of basketball is played because of the fans and Zeljko Obradovic was thrilled with the atmosphere fans made.
“Thanks to our fans who are supporting us. It was a great atmosphere, congrats to the Zalgiris fans as well. This is what European basketball needs“, concluded the Serbian coach.
