BELGRADE – – Potential No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft Luka Doncic couldn’t help but feel rather pleased with making the EuroLeague Final for the first time in his career, following the victory of Real Madrid over CSKA Moscow.
“It’s amazing. It was a hard game. The season was hard with all the injuries we had. I’m very happy to be here,” Doncic told Eurohoops after the semifinal.
One of the main aspects of his team’s win was putting handcuffs in a certain… former Real Madrid player.
Sergio Rodriguez came into the game as the MVP of CSKA in the playoffs with 19.5 points plus 6.3 assists in the games vs. Khimki but had merely five points with 2/7 shots, plus six assists vs. Real.
“We did a great job on defense. We put intensity on the court. One of the keys was with Chacho (Sergio Rodriguez). We really stopped him,” Doncic said.
