BELGRADE — Zalgiris Kaunas, the underdog in this year’s EuroLeague Final Four, Zalgiris Kaunas, couldn’t make an upset against Fenerbahce Dogus in the semifinal and now have to focus on the third-place game against CSKA Moscow.
Despite his team losing to Fenerbahce, coach Sarunas Jasikevicius hopes the defending champions go all the way and lift the trophy for the second consecutive season:
“I don’t know, I hope it’s Fener,” he told Eurohoops before explaining the reasons he supports the Turkish team.
“Because Fener is my ex-team, I have a good relationship with the staff of Fener… and I’m a huge Barca fan, what do you want me to say.”, Saras said wittingly cheering everybody up a bit.
The Lithuanian coach also analyzed the semifinal game and the season so far, both criticizing and praising his players while also sharing his view on the influence this Zalgiris success will have on the Nationa Team and basketball in Lithuania:
