BELGRADE– Sarunas Jasikevicius was proud of his team and the way they ended this Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season.
“Congratulations to our fans, players, organization for a great season. I’m very proud. We played great basketball for most of the game. However, we almost paid the price against a great team. The way they (players) played this year was incredible. They are unbelievable characters, work hard. I know that the coaches say that, but my players work very very hard. The locker room is like a family. Hopefully, Zalgiris has many Final Four appearances in the future.”
Zalgiris head coach was also asked about which job is harder. A player’s or a coach’s job? He replied instantly, without any hesitation.
“Coaches life is crazy. One of the worst jobs. Maybe I’m exaggerating. If you compare with players’ job, it is crazy. A lot more responsibilities, stress. Playing at a great basketball team is probably one of the best jobs you can have.”
