The two sides had a meeting and agreed on a modification for the upcoming 2018-2019 7DaysEuroCup competition that will ensure a break between the regular season and the second round.

In the proposal ratified by all 11 members leagues of ULEB, the upcoming EuroCup season will see Regular Season Round 1 played on October 3. This is one week earlier than the draft calendar previously discussed in the ECA Shareholders Executive Board Meeting held on December 5, 2017, the Domestic Leagues Meeting held on December 13, 2017, and approved by the EuroCup Board on April 13, 2018.

At April’s Board Meeting, club representatives requested one modification to the 2018-19 EuroCup Calendar to ensure a break between the Regular Season and Top 16 phases of the competition, something that did not occur during 2017-18 causing significant challenge for the participating clubs. Following Euroleague Basketball’s philosophy to combine EuroLeague and EuroCup dates in the same week in order to minimize the impact on domestic league competitions, Euroleague Basketball had previously proposed to schedule one EuroCup Regular Season Round on November 27.
