Veteran guard Bobby Brown completed the season in Greece with Olympiacos Piraeus, Sunday (17/6) with Game 5 of the League Finals vs. Panathinaikos. The American guard is becoming a free agent and already has some thoughts regarding his future destinations.
As Eurohoops has learned, Brown’s main focus will be to continue his career either in Europe or China since he’s not particularly interested in returning to the NBA where he last played with the Houston Rockets. The 33-year-old American player’s goal will be first and foremost to find a team that will grant him the playing time and role he desires and then a deal that will satisfy him financially.
Brown signed with Olympiacos in February to provide the Greek team with a much-needed extra offensive punch. While he was considered one of the most hard-working players in Olympiacos‘ practices, he couldn’t find a sufficient amount of playing time in the rotation of the Reds since the team’s backcourt lineup already featured four guards (captain Vassilis Spanoulis, Brian Roberts, Vangelis Mantzaris and Janis Strelnieks) when Brown arrived.
Still, Brown wouldn’t say no to continuing with Olympiacos since apart from the team, he’s become quite fond of life in Athens.
Throughout his career, Brown has played for such teams such as the L.A. Clippers, Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Pelicans and Houston Rockets in the NBA, plus Besiktas and Montepaschi Siena. With the latter, he won the “Alphonso Ford Top Scorer” award in EuroLeague in 2013.
