Darussafaka Istanbul announced that Ahmet Caki was hired as the team’s new head coach. The Turkish coach signed a two-year contract with the team to replace David Blatt who was at the helm of Dacka during the last two seasons.
Caki,43, returns to Turkey to coach the reigning EuroCup champions, following a stint with Alba Berlin in Germany. He previously served as head coach with Tofas Bursa and Anadolu Efes.
From 1997 to 2004, Caki was the assistant coach of Darussafaka before assuming head coach duties in 2004, and until 2006.
With Darussafaka, Caki will make his EuroLeague debut as head coach.
