Khimki Moscow announced that forward/center Malcolm Thomas will stay with the team in the upcoming season.
Thomas’ contract included an opt-out option for the club for 2018-2019 but Khimki decided to not exercise it and thus the 29-year-old American player will remain a Moscow resident.
In 2017-2018, Thomas averaged 7.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.4 assists over 21 minutes per game in EuroLeague, helping Khimki reach the playoffs for the first time in the history of the club. He was noted for his defensive output.
Thomas posted 9.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists for 13.7 PIR per game in VTB League as Khimki made it to the Final and thus got the ticket to next season’s EuroLeague.
