As it happens every time he is a free agent, since 2010, on Monday afternoon, Vassilis Spanoulis has a meeting with Olympiacos Piraeus’ owners, regarding his future with the team.
Both sides want to continue their cooperation in the coming years until Spanoulis decides to retire. However, there has not been the slightest debate about the new contract and the economic terms. Olympiacos‘ leader understands the situation and is willing to do what’s best for the Greek team to make the necessary moves and compete for the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague trophy next season.
According to sources, Vassilis Spanoulis wants a two-year contract and Olympiacos is willing to offer it. If the two sides do not find a compromising solution that will favor both, then Spanoulis will eventually look at his other choices available.
At this moment, the team that has informed him that he is the primary goal of the team is Anadolu Efes, who keep on making moves this current free agency. Realistic chances however for Efes to sign Spanoulis is only if Olympiacos does not find a way to keep Spanoulis and the meeting between the two sides goes horribly.
