Real Madrid announced that forward Trey Thompkins renewed his contract for the team for two more seasons. The American player had offers from other EuroLeague clubs such as Anadolu Efes but ultimately decided to remain with the “Blancos”.
Thompkins, 28, was a key player of Real Madrid on the road to winning the “Decima” in EuroLeague. In the title game against Fenerbahce, he was the one to score perhaps the most decisive basket of the match, a lay-up after an offensive rebound for the 83 – 78 with 18 seconds remaining.
Over the 2017-2018 season, his third with Real, Thompkins averaged 9.5 points plus 5.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 25 minutes per game in EuroLeague.
