Scottie Wilbekin and Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv have agreed to terms on a two-year deal, according to Eurohoops sources.
The official announcement will be made next week, as the commitment he has with Anadolu Efes delays the process.
The Turkish team had agreed to terms with the American guard, but the ‘buy out’ that Darussafaka was asking was too much for Efes to pay and so the transfer was not completed. Thus, Maccabi took advantage of the situation, and agreed on a two-year deal with Scottie Wilbekin, covering the ‘buy out.’
Maccabi recently extended Deandre Kane’s contract for one more season and was also interested in Shane Larkin. Eventually, the Israeli team signed 7DAYS EuroCup champion, Scottie Wilbekin. In Europe’s competition with Darussafaka, Wilbekin was the leader of the team. In 18 games, he averaged 19.7 points, 4.8 assists and 1.6 steals per game.
