Maccabi Tel Aviv made Scottie Wilbekin’s signing official, confirming Eurohoops’ prior reports about a two-year deal between the two sides.
Wilbekin led Darussafaka to the EuroCup championship and back to EuroLeague. In 18 games, he averaged 19.7 points, 4.8 assists and 1.6 steals.
Wilbekin, who was being eyed by Anadolu Efes, finally ended up in Maccabi since the Turkish team couldn’t complete his buy-out procedures that Darussafaka required.
After his signing, Wilbekin mentioned the following to the team’s website: “I’m excited to get to a big club like Maccabi and be part of the tradition of basketball in Europe. I am also excited to see the team being built in Tel Aviv and expect to see everyone soon.”
