Panathinaikos announced that Greek guard Nikos Pappas renewed his contract with the team for two more years. The 28-year-old player will thus remain with the “Greens” until 2020.
Pappas, 28, has played with Panathinaikos since 2013. Through these five years, he helped the team win three Greek League titles (2014, 2017, 2018) and four domestic Cup trophies (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017).
In the previous season, Pappas posted 8.2 points and 1.1 rebounds averaging 17 minutes per game in EuroLeague. In the Greek League, he had 9.5 points and 1.9 assists over 18 minutes per game, including a key 13-point performance in Game 5 of the Finals vs. Olympiacos.
With Pappas staying with the team, Panathinaikos now has 11 (Nick Calathes, James Gist, Ioannis Papapetrou, Nikos Pappas, Stephane Lasme, Keith Langford, Ian Vougioukas, Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Marcus Denmon, Lukas Lekavicius, Dinos Mitoglou). players for next season’s roster. George Papagiannis is also expected to sign with the team.
