Maccabi Tel Aviv announced that American center Alex Tyus will continue with the team in 2018-2019. Tyus, a EuroLeague champion with Maccabi in 2014, will thus return for his fourth season with the Israeli powerhouse.
In 2017-2018, Tyus averaged 8.3 points and 4.9 rebounds in Euroleague plus 9.4 points and 5.8 rebounds in the Israeli Winner League. The 30-year-old player had 10.7 points plus 7.2 rebounds in the Israeli Final Four, helping Maccabi win the title while being named the MVP.
Tyus previously played for Maccabi in 2013-2015, apart from the previous season. He helped the team win the 2014 EuroLeague and 2015 Israeli League and State Cup titles before leaving for Turkey where he spent two seasons with Anadolu Efes and Galatasaray, in 2015-2017.
