Ed Warner: “EuroLeague is here to stay”

Speaking to iSportconnect, Ed Warner, former interim Chairman of British Basketball addressed the ever-going saga between FIBA and EuroLeague, mentioning that clubs will go wherever the money is the greatest.

“It’s been going on for years now and it really goes to the heart of whether international federations actually own the sport. They might own World Championships but you can’t say they can control every tournament format”, Warner mentions.

“I don’t see the Basketball Champions League knocking EuroLeague down anytime soon. […] I suspect EuroLeague is here to stay and probably they are going to call the tune for some time to come”.
