Darussafaka Istanbul signed American forward and 2012 All-Star game Slam Dunk contest winner Jeremy Evans to a one-year contract, the club announced. This will be the player’s second stint in Europe following a run with Khimki Moscow in 2016-2017.
Evans, 30, spent most the previous season with the Erie Bayhawks, the Atlanta Hawks’ G-League affiliate. He averaged 15.3 points and 10 rebounds over 30.7 minutes per game in 39 G League matches. Before the Bayhawks, Evans had also played for Dallas Mavericks, following five seasons with the Utah Jazz.
With Darussafaka, Evans will make his debut in EuroLeague, the European top-tier competition and also the Turkish BSL.
