Russian center Dmitry Sokolov has retired from basketball at age 33, VTB League announced.
Sokolov spent the entirety of his career in Russia and had stints with pretty much all powerhouses of his native country, such as CSKA Moscow, Lokomotiv Kuban, Unics Kazan, and Khimki Moscow, the team he last played with. He’s a three-time VTB League Champion with CSKA Moscow (2010, 2012, 2013) and also represented the Russian national team in the EuroBasket tournaments of 2009 and 2013.
A seven-year EuroLeague veteran, Sokolov reached the Final Four tournaments of 2010, 2012 and 2013 with CSKA Moscow.
