Zach LeDay scored 30 points and grabbed seven rebounds as Olympiacos defeated Rethymno 99 – 66 in a preseason game held behind closed doors in “Peace and Friendship” arena.
Olympiacos was vastly superior from early on, finishing the first quarter up 39 – 18. The Reds preserved a big lead for the remainder of the game, despite the absences of Giorgos Printezis, Kostas Papanikolaou, Vangelis Mantzaris, Janis Strelnieks, Janis Timma and Nikola Milutinov due to their national teams’ obligations in September’s World Cup Qualifiers.
Sasa Vezenkov added 18 points plus six rebounds and Nigel Williams-Goss 14 points for David Blatt’s team.
This was the third game and third win in preseason for Olympiacos.
