Fenerbahce guard Kostas Sloukas said that he feels so happy with the Turkish team that he’s not even considering to ever leave the club and return to play in Greece.
“100% no,” Sloukas answered when asked if he has in his mind playing for a Greek club in the future by the Athenian-Macedonian News Agency.
“I mean, I want to stay with Fenerbahce because I’m having a good time,” Sloukas said. “Because the team is the best in Europe at the moment. The team is in the elite. I’ve put my piece in this along with many other players like Jan Vesely and Gigi Datome.”
“We have created a core. I’m very very happy and I’m glad that I’m their teammate and that we have Obradovic and his assistants as coaches,” Sloukas added.
Sloukas signed with Fenerbahce in 2015 after spending six seasons with Olympiacos. The Greek combo guard was a key player in the Reds’ run to winning the back-to-back EuroLeague titles of 2012 and 2013. In 2017, he won his third EuroLeague title, helping Fenerbahce reach the title for the first time in the history of the club and Turkish basketball.
Regarding FIBA Windows, Sloukas commented the following: “I think that basketball suffers. Players want to compete with their national teams but it’s impossible.”
