Zalgiris Kaunas announced a notable increase of its budget for the new season, per Donatas Urbonas. More specifically, the team will have a budget of €10.7M for the 2018-19 season, an extra of €2.2M. in comparison to last year’s budget.
Per the same report, €7.4M is set for the salaries of the players and altogether this marks Zalgiris‘ biggest budget in history, as a result of its extremely successful route in EuroLeague last season.
This significant raise was one of the reasons Sarunas Jasikevicius stuck with the team after turning down plenty of offers, including NBA ones.
