Olimpia Milano guard Dairis Bertans revealed that his shooting role model is none other than Real Madrid‘s two-time EuroLeague champion Jaycee Carroll.
“Obviously Jaycee Carroll is an amazing shooter. I would say the best in Europe for sure. So to become like him and shoot like him is a goal for me,” Bertans said in an interview for OlimpiaMilano.com
Bertans’ shooting efficiency is quite notable and that’s something that runs in the family. “It’s who I am. It’s the same with my brother (San Antonio Spurs forward Davis Bertans) who is a great shooter and our father (Dainis Bertans) was a great shooter when he played. He was the one who taught us how to shoot.”
Apparently, it also has to do with being Latvian. “Especially Lithuanians say that – and they are a bit jealous about it – that Latvians are all great shooters.”
