Fenerbahce and Maccabi Tel Aviv opened the Pavlos Giannakopoulos tournament with a close and exciting game which belonged to Fenerbahce after an overtime. The final score was 94-92.
Kostas Sloukas was the hero of the night for Fenerbahce as he scored game-high 22 points while also putting in a difficult layup to tie the game at 78 and force it into overtime, despite a challenge from Alex Tyus. He was also the one taking responsibility in the final minute of the match, staying calm and securing the game for Fenerbahce.
