Fenerbahce got the 82-75 victory over Zalgiris Kaunas on the road in the game of the week for Round 3 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. The visitors continue their undefeated streak, while the Lithuanian team sank to a 1-2 record.
Kostas Sloukas’ contribution to the game changed the pace entirely for the Turkish team, as the Greek guard was unstoppable from the three-point line (4/6) and finished the game with a 20-point performance (along with five assists).
Tyler Ennis (9 p.) and Joffrey Lauvergne (8 p.) stepped up for Fenerbahce in the final minutes of the game as Fenerbahce made a huge comeback.
“It was necessary to change a lot of things. I’m very proud of the reaction of my players. We beat an excellent team that over here is always difficult to play.”, Zeljko Obradovic noted in his post-game quotes.
On the other side of the floor, Nate Wolters tried to save the day for Zalgiris, though his 23-point contribution wasn’t enough to seal the victory.
As always, it was a special moment for the two team’s coaches, Zeljko Obradovic and Sarunas Jasikevicius, as they met once again, after sharing many successful years together in Panathinaikos!
