Olympiacos big Zach LeDay (8.5 points with 70.6 percent from the field plus 2.5 rebounds in 14:37 minutes per game in four EuroLeague matches) evaluated his outing in his maiden EuroLeague campaign so far during a run that included all sorts of results for the Reds: Some major wins on the road but also a blowout loss at home.

“I think I’m doing alright,” LeDay told Eurohoops. ” I just want to be myself. I just want to bring what I bring to the team. I’m a different type of player and I bring different things to the floor than the other guys. So I just want to be myself and do what I do best to help the team win.”

Apart from playing to his strengths, LeDay also believes that playing close attention to every single word by coach David Blatt is a key to unlocking the full potential of what he can provide for Olympiacos.

“Everything,” the American center said to Eurohoops when asked what areas of his game he wants to improve. “Any little thing coach Blatt tells at me about. He yells at me, he stays on me. Which is good because I want to be the best to help our team be the best.”

After the win over Maccabi Tel Aviv, that came also thanks to his 12 points and three rebounds in 19:54, LeDay looks forward to a trio of quite demanding matches in the upcoming weeks against Final Four and title contenders: CSKA Moscow plus archrival Panathinaikos on the road, and then Fenerbahce at home.

“We have to keep doing the little things. Little stops on defense. Rebounds. Really focus on defense. If we keep doing that and keep taking it one game at a time, then we’ll be alright.”
