Not only did Anthony Randolph remained a Real Madrid player, despite summer reports saying that he was at the exit door of the club, but he’s also been the team’s top scorer so far in 2018-2019 EuroLeague with 15.5 points per game, to go along his 5.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists.
Are we seeing the best version of Anthony Randolph with the jersey of Real?
“I don’t know. Maybe,” Randolph told journalists when asked he’s currently in his best moment during his Real Madrid stint, following his team’s win over Buducnost for Round 4 of the EuroLeague regular season.
Randolph finished the match with 11 points plus six rebounds, helping Real remain undefeated in EuroLeague with 4-0. Still, there’s a long road ahead for the reigning champions.
“We are having a good start of the season but we’re not gonna get complacent,” Randolph said. “We have to keep working, try to get better every day in practice. Our ultimate goal is to win the EuroLeague title.”
It’s a long process as Real and Randolph learned in the previous season. Despite the fact that Real had some ups and downs in the regular season, finishing fifth and without homecourt advantage, they eliminated Panathinaikos in the playoffs and went to win the title in the Final Four of Belgrade. Just because they hit the ceiling of their performance at the right time.
“All that matters it’s what happens in May. Be the last team to get a win at the end of the season. That’s all that we care about in Madrid. Always drive forward and rise championships.”
