Jan Vesely will not play in Fenerbahce‘s EuroLeague regular season Round 7 away game with Olympiacos. After the birth of his son, he didn’t travel to Athens yesterday with his teammates and didn’t make the trip today either.
There was a chance that he would travel today to Greece, some hours before the match, but Zeljko Obradovic decided it wasn’t necessary. Instead of helping his team, the proud father will stay by his wife’s side and get to know newborn Liam.
Fener will have to adjust to his absence. So far this season, the Czech forward/center averaged 15 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.7 steals and 0.7 blocks per EuroLeague game.
Strelnieks is ready
The Greeks will have Janis Strelnieks for the match with Fenerbahce. The Latvian guard was considered day-to-day, but overcame his injury and is now ready to return to action. He has only played in three EuroLeague 2018-19 matches averaging 7 points and 1.7 assists.
