Kostas Sloukas: Unfortunately, I am Olympiacos’ opponent for 40 minutes

Kostas Sloukas scored a decisive three-pointer Thursday night, which gave Fenerbahce an important away win over his former team, Olympiacos. After the Round 7 EuroLeague regular season game he told Eurohoops: “Olympiacos was with its back on the wall, they had to win. We played without our best player and dedicated our win to him. It was our first road win against Olympiacos during my time with Fenerbahce. Olympiacos is always a tough opponent here. I’m happy for my team’s success”.

His reaction after his clutch shot wasn’t met with a welcoming attitude from the Reds’ fans, but he mentioned: “I’m an ambitious player; money isn’t my priority, as I have said before. I try to get better season by season, game by game. Tonight (Thursday) I got a big three-pointer. Surely I overreacted, but that doesn’t mean I don’t respect the Olympiacos fans, the time I spent here, my successes here. Unfortunately, in these games I am Olympiacos’ opponent for 40 minutes. I knew I scored a big three that gave us the win”.

The 28-year-old Greek guard added: “The fans are the ones that decide whether they will applaud or boo me. Anything they do, I will do my job. Nobody steps on the court to lose”.
