Olympiacos BC filed a lawsuit against Panathinaikos BC and club owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos.
Per the announcement of Olympiacos, the lawsuit was filed following the “slanderous official statement of Dimitris Giannakopoulos and Panathinaikos BC,” for the “reparation of the damage the club suffered due to the illegal behavior of the above sycophants.”
Following the Panathinaikos – Olympiacos game for Round 6 of the EuroLeague Regular Season, the Crew Chief’s Report mentioned that Giannakopoulos “accused two of the referees that they were betting thousands”. The position of Panathinaikos was that what Giannakopoulos actually said was that Olympiacos promised two of them 20.000 apiece.
