Darussafaka only has one win in eleven 2018-19 EuroLeague games and three out of eight in the Turkish BSL. After its latest defeat against Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv in EuroLeague Regular Season Day 11 action, the decision was made to part ways with Ahmet Caki.
The 43-year-old coach took over last June as David Blatt’s successor. He was Darussafaka’s coach from 2004 to 2006, but his second stint only lasted six months.
After finalizing Caki’s removal, the Turkish club will concentrate on its next head coach. According to Eurohoops sources, Turkey’s National Team head coach Ufuk Sarica will be among the main targets, Selcuk Ernak will also be a candidate.
