Gran Canaria is in talks with Hollis Thompson in order to replace Chris Evans who is en route to Buducnost, according to Eurohoops sources.
Thompson had been a free agent since parting ways with Olympiacos at the end of the previous season. The former Philadelphia 76ers swingman was looking for a EuroLeague contract and if the negotiations with Gran Canaria evolve into a deal, then he’ll return to the competition.
As for Evans, he is expected to leave the Spanish team and join Montenegrin EuroLeague club Buducnost. Actually, the two teams are facing each other today (14/12) in Las Palmas, home of Gran Canaria in a game for Round 12 of the EuroLeague regular season.
The talks between Thompson and Gran Canaria were first reported by Greek website SDNA.
