Panathinaikos snapped a three-game losing skid in EuroLeague with a win over Darussafaka Tekfen Friday (14/12). Despite the result, the team’s performance wasn’t exactly satisfactory for club owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos.
Giannakopoulos issued the following statement, not long after the game’s completion:
“For another time, our display tonight was unacceptable. At this level, it’s not acceptable for someone to not dedicate his 100% to the team. Physically and psychologically. Those who don’t do that, don’t belong with Panathinaikos.”
In the second half of the game, former longtime Panathinaikos president Thanasis Giannakopoulos (Dimitris Giannakopoulos’ uncle) moved behind the bench of the team to watch the rest of the game.
