CSKA Moscow prevailed over Anadolu Efes Istanbul at home with a 102-84 victory in Round 14 of Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.
Will Clyburn posted a tremendous double-double of 24 points and 11 boards, leading the Russian side to an 11-3 record. Nando De Colo followed with an equally impressive performance of 21 points, five rebounds and six assists.
It was also a special evening for Sergio Rodriguez (8p.), who dished his 1000th assist in the competition (three overall tonight), in a beautiful co-operation with Clyburn.
After an explosive first half of scoring, CSKA dominated the offensive clash with total control of the boards, while forcing Efes to turnovers at the same time. “Both teams showed great potential on offense in the first half. I was not happy with our performance defensively and talked about this at halftime, in the locker room, especially about rebounds”, mentioned Ergin Ataman in high post-game quotes.
It wasn’t long before the hosts got away with the lead, after they entered the fourth quarter with a +9 advantage.
The Turkish side finishes the week the double-game week on a bitter note and falls to a 9-5 record.
