Barcelona guard Kevin Pangos said that prior to signing with the Blaugrana, he received some advice by someone who was well-acquainted with the club: Sarunas Jasikevicius.
“Yes, I talked to him a little bit and he said that Barcelona is the best club in Europe. He loved it here and thought it was a great opportunity for me, so I should make the most of it,” Pangos said in an interview with EuroLeague.net.
Saras won his first (out of a total number of four) EuroLeague title playing for Barcelona back in 2003. He spent four years with the team before signing with Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel.
Pangos played under Saras for two years with Zalgiris Kaunas. In 2017-2018, he averaged 12.7 points, 5.9 assists and 2.7 rebounds per game, leading the team to the EuroLeague Final Four for the first time since the club’s championship run in 1999.
