Gigi Datome is the central figure of EuroLeague’s latest Focus On installment. Zeljko Obradovic talked about his leadership and Jan Vesely shared his view on his teammate’s contribution. The 31-year-old Italian forward himself noted: “We need desire and motivation to reach the level we want to be”.
Datome is gunning for his second EuroLeague championship. The 2017 triumph was his first, but he still has last year’s final defeat in his mind. “We won a lot of games, but at the end of the day everybody remembers the final” he said.
He also pointed out: “Fenerbahce is huge in Turkey. We feel responsible. We want to be as successful as we can. We are playing for millions and millions of people. This gives you a lot of pride”.
