Janis Strelnieks returned to Greece from Latvia, but he will not be able to play for the next month due to a left leg muscle injury. According to Olympiacos’ doctors, Strelnieks is expected to miss three to four weeks of action.
The Latvian guard will miss crucial EuroLeague games, as the Reds are trying to reach the top five spots of the regular season final standings.
Olympiacos has only a few hours before the start of the 24th round of EuroLeague in order to add even a temporary replacement.
Meanwhile, the fact that Strelnieks played for the Latvian national team and “sustained a small muscle tear” as his agent Arturs Kalnitis tweeted has raised many eyebrows in Piraeus.
