Olimpia Milano announced Friday the departure of Dairis Bertans, who is en route to New Orleans Pelicans as prior reported.
The two sides mutually agreed to end their contract, so 29-year-old Bertans can pursue his NBA dream for the first time in his career.
“I want to thank Olimpia for giving me the opportunity to realize a dream that I was pursuing since I was a kid”, commented Bertans. “I can’t even start to describe the pride I felt spending two years in such a historic club. All the people I’ve met during those two years, are family to me. Hopefully, one day, I will wear the Olimpia glorious jersey again.”
Bertans played two years in Milan, winning an Italian league title and two Supercups.
