Rolands Smits has been a pleasant surprise for FC Barcelona Lassa and has been gaining minutes throughout the 2018-19 campaign. However, Svetislav Pesic warned him that he can lose his girlfriend if he keeps training all day and every day. “He lives in the Palau” the 69-year-old coach mentioned commenting on his player.
Pesic went on: “I’ve asked him if he has a girlfriend and he answered: “Yes, yes, I have a girlfriend”. I explained to him that if he continues to train this way, all day and every day, it’s quite possible he will lose his girlfriend. Basketball is basketball. He’s very ambitious and trains consistently. I’m very happy with his effort. He is a very important player for Barcelona”.
The Latvian forward has 3.1 points and 1.3 rebounds per game in eleven EuroLeague appearances this season. In the ACB he’s averaging 4.5 points and 2.6 rebounds.
