Vincent Poirier is considered one of the best big men in Europe and while speaking to the French “RMC Sport Buzzer show” he admitted that he might leave Vitoria this summer, even though his contract expires in 2020.
When asked if he could sign for a EuroLeague title contender like Real Madrid, Fenerbahce and CSKA Moscow, or even in the NBA, the French center answered: “I still have a contract for next year with Vitoria, which doesn’t include a EuroLeague buy out clause. That’s why it depends on Baskonia. For the NBA, I don’t know. Like every year, I am waiting for the season to end, to perform my best and we will see what may come. I know that there are clubs which are interested in me, both from the EuroLeague and the NBA. So we will have to wait for the summer and I will make the best possible choice”.
Poirier is under a three-year deal he signed with Baskonia in 2017. He has been averaging 11.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.1 steals over 25:27 minutes per game this season in EuroLeague.
