Real Madrid coach Pablo Laso confirmed that Sergio Llull will most likely miss the upcoming EuroLeague playoff series against Panathinaikos Athens.
“Honestly, I think it’s difficult for him to play the playoffs,” Laso said in the post-game presser of the loss to Zalgiris Kaunas. Llull is down with an injury on the femoral biceps of his left leg, per Real Madrid. No details on the precise manner of the injury have been given so far.
“I wish he can play but it seems complicated because I don’t think my medical staff are magicians or gurus,” Laso added. “I think they are wonderful, excellent but not magicians or gurus. And they want to get Llull back in the best possible way and in the best possible moment like they did last season.”
Still, Laso remains hopeful that his star player might recover quicker than expected right now. “Last year he was out for the whole season and he appeared in the playoffs. I have a lot of trust in my medical team because they deserve it. I have all the trust that Sergio will be ready as soon as possible,” the Spanish coach had previously mentioned.
