In the 2016-17 EuroLeague season, Kostas Sloukas only made two of his 12 efforts for clutch buckets. Last year he had 12/26, but he’s now up to 12/20 during his 2018-19 campaign in Europe’s premier competition. The 29-year-old Greek guard handed Fenerbahce Beko the home win against Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv on Friday.
The Turkish club became the first team to finish a EuroLeague Regular Season undefeated at home after the implementation of the round-robin schedule. However, the buzzer-beater three-pointer from Sloukas was needed to make history.
Fener’s hero in the final Round of the Regular Season previously made two more clutch buckets down the stretch and finished with a game-high 22 points to his name. He was 7/10 from the field including 4/6 beyond the arc, also tallied five assists and four boards.
