Baskonia was on par with CSKA in the first half but they got outplayed in the third quarter (29-12) in which the host nailed seven triples, and the Spaniards couldn’t recover from the blow. Darrun Hilliard – who logged 12 points and four boards – admitted Baskonia didn’t play well, especially on defense, but believes they will figure things out and be ready for Game 2 which is scheduled in two days (18/4):
“It’s only 1-0. It wasn’t the best game we played. We know that. They are a great team. I think that’s the great experience about the playoffs. You get to back and look at film and see what they did better than us. We get another chance on Thursday. Hopefully, it will be better and we’ll be more ready to play on Thursday. We have to definitely improve a lot. They beat us pretty good. Most important I think is defense. We have to figure out a way to defend one-on-one, keep guys in front of us. They have a lot of weapons, We have to figure it out. We have to watch film and stay on the same page. We have to stick together. I think we’ll be fine on Thursday”, he said.
