Baskonia center Vincent Poirier set a new record for the most rebounds collected by a player in a single EuroLeague season, en route to leading his team to a road win over CSKA Moscow in Game 2 of the playoffs.
Poirier grabbed 15 rebounds in the match to increase his season number to 262. The French center surpassed the late Tyler Honeycutt and the 256 rebounds he had collected in 2016-2017 when he played for Anadolu Efes plus Boban Marjanovic’s 256 rebounds from the 2014-2015 season with Crvena Zvezda.
Apart from his record-breaking night on boards, Poirier scored 14 points and had four steals for a game-high 32 PIR.
