Barcelona ties series against Efes after a thriller in Istanbul

Barcelona Lassa tied the playoffs series against hosts Anadolu Efes Istanbul in Game 2 with a narrow 74-72 victory that was decided in the very last seconds. The series is now taken to the Spanish city where anything can happen, depending on the intensity of tonight’s battle.

Barcelona was in charge during the first half, though the momentum quickly changed early in the second, as the hosts hit back-to-back threes and gained the lead. Both teams ended up exchanging baskets making the fans jump off of their fit at the nearly packed gym.

However, it was the visiting side that got a grip of the game in the end, with Adam Hanga hitting the game-ending basket with a few seconds left in the game.

Hanga was also the key player for Svetislav Pesic’s team, as he recorded a team-high performance of 17 points and four rebounds.

And despite the road win, Hanga remains grounded: “Obviously it was a very tough game and I expect all the games are going to be like this in the future. It’s 1-1 so we still have to win two more. Our goal was to get a win in Istanbul, we accomplished it but now we’ve got to look at the next goal and finish this in Barcelona. My only motivation is the team, I just want to win the game and help my team in any way possible”.

On the other side of the court, Shane Larkin finished with 18 points for Efes.
