Vincent Poirier was named EuroLeague Playoffs Game 2 MVP. The 25-year-old French center was KIROLBET Baskonia’s main weapon in the 78-68 road win against CSKA Moscow on Thursday. The Spanish team tied the best-of-five series at 1-1 and ended its opponents’ 21-game postseason winning streak behind Poirier’s dominating showing.
The French big scored 14 points with 6/6 two-pointers and grabbed 15 rebounds. He tied his career-high four steals, tallied two dimes and one block as well, also drew three fouls in 21:43. His 15 boards are the third-most pulled down in the playoffs since 2011, but his 32 PIR landed him the MVP award.
