Crvena Zvezda mts will return to the EuroLeague after winning the ABA League Championship and is ready to welcome its arch-rival Partizan NIS to Europe’s premier competition. During an interview on Serbian TV, Nebojsa Covic, president of the Red-Whites, said Belgrade is worthy of two EuroLeague clubs.
“Crvena Zvezda fully supports Partizan’s efforts for a EuroLeague Wild Card. Belgrade, the largest basketball center of its region, deserves to have two representatives in the elite” Covic mentioned.
ABA General Manager, Kresimir Novosel, confirmed that the League might indeed have a second EuroLeague club in 2019-20. EuroLeague itself will make the final decision ahead of the next season.
