Zeljko Obradovic will participate in his 18th EuroLeague Final Four after Fenerbahce advanced past Zalgiris. This will also be the Turkish club’s fifth straight Final Four – all of them after Obradovic took over in 2013-14 – and the coach believes the players’ constant motivation throughout the years was the key factor:
“It’s special if you understand that this club was never in the Final Four before that. I’m very happy because we have a group of players that have stayed together for a lot of years and this means that we continue to work seriously and that somehow, we are still hungry. Without this it’s impossible. So, congratulations to them. They found a way, they have the motivation and without motivation, nothing is possible in life, especially in sports. We need to keep it and continue that way”, he explained.
Obradovic also explained Nikola Kalinic‘s situation who missed Game 4 due to shoulder injury: “Medical staff said they will try to do everything. Right now, it looks like a couple of weeks. We don’t know, we are not sure”, he said.
