Barcelona Lassa has already started figuring out the roster for the next season and the first step to it would be extending the deal with Victor Claver, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Claver had a renewal proposal on the table before the start of the season but preferred to wait and his performance throughout the past year didn’t change Barca’s plans. The negotiations haven’t started yet but the player was informed that the club wants him to stay and both parties would prefer a two or three-year agreement.
Coach Svetislav Pesic also has an extension offered to him but he postponed the discussion until the end of the season and it isn’t clear if the 69-year-old would want to continue as a head coach or maybe move to a less demanding role with the club.
Four more players have contracts which will expire this summer: Chris Singleton, Kevin Seraphin, Thomas Heurtel, Jaka Blazic. According to the report, Singleton and Seraphin are not expected to stay while Blazic’s status depends on the final roster composition. As for Heurtel, the French guard will stay only in the case that Barcelona can’t land a top-level guard in the summer.
