The two-time EuroLeague champions with Real Madrid in Jaycee Carroll has been looking forward to a chance at the third trophy and noted that he doesn’t feel more pressure than usual since the Spanish squad has already made it to the top before:
“There isn’t more pressure. I don’t feel a different pressure than other years. We are the champions and this year is another challenge. We come as a group that wants to win. Having won it, we feel less pressure because we already did it once”, he said during Real Madrid‘s media day.
He also described the atmosphere in the past week as the squad prepared for the Final Four: “With much desire, with much encouragement. It’s a very fun week and we’ve worked almost eight months to get to this point. For me now it is to enjoy it, to remember everything we have done well during the year and to try to demonstrate it on the track this weekend.”
The 36-year-old veteran has experienced many important and memorable moments but he’s got the favorite one: “I remember a lot the road to the Final Four last year. We got together as a team and had to win an important game against Panathinaikos. As a group, we change the chip to compete and reach the level necessary to win. If I had to choose a moment of the Final Four that I played, it would be two and a half minutes here in Madrid in 2015. I will never forget it.”
